Get Started Program
For those members who choose our premium 2.0 membership plan, WebRing will help you place the navigation code on up to five of your web pages (URLs) and help you get active in Communities related to your site. You can get started for only $36 a year (for details of other 2.0 membership benefits, click here).
How Do I Request Help Placing the Code on My Web Site?
Step 1: Log in to an existing WebRing account or sign up for a new account. These links open in new windows so you can follow along easily.
Step 2: Request to become a 2.0 member by clicking the link on your My Account page that says "Become a WebRing 2.0 member", then click the button that says "Choose WebRing 2.0 now".
Step 3: Choose one of the payment options on the next screen to add funds to your account. You will be notified once the funds have been successfully added to your account so that you can proceed with using the Get Started Program.
Step 4: Once you are an active 2.0 member and you've registered your web page (URL), click on the URLs tab of your My Account page and then click the "Get Started" link for the web page (URL) that you want us to place the navigation code on.
Step 5: Fill out the information on that screen and click the "Submit" button. It is important that you look for emails relating to your request as our technical staff may require additional information to successfully process your request.
What Do You Need to Place the Code on My Web Site?
In order for us to help you with placing the WebRing navigation code, you will need to know the following:
- Which web page (URL) you wish to place the navigation code on (if it is different than the URL registered with us)
(ex. http://yoursite.com)
- Where you log in to edit your web site
(ex. http://geocities.com, www.freewebs.com, www.bravehost.com)
- Your user ID and password for your web hosting company
(ex. ID: getstarted Password: rightnow)
If you don't know the information above because you had someone else create your web site, please contact your web developer to get the needed information before you proceed.
How Long Will It Take?
WebRing Member Services strives to process every request as soon as possible during regular business hours; however, we ask for your patience in processing your request. Typical delays include:
- Incorrect or missing web site information
- Requests made outside of WebRing business hours (Mon-Fri 9-5 PST)
- Federal holidays
- Forces outside of WebRing's control
While in process, we ask that you do NOT access or alter your web site content.
