This ring includes all kinds of homepages related to Japanese culture of the past. It also includes sites that are about culture that has undergone transformation, or new arts that have been significantly influenced by the old culture. There are some cultural arts that are also shared with other nations of Asia. Examples of old cultural practices are the Japanese tea ceremony, cha no yu, Japanese martial arts, brush painting and calligraphy, zen rock and sand gardens, and gardens with lush vegetation, the cultivation of koi fish, sushi and other uniquely Japanese dishes and cuisine, No and Kabuki theater, haiku, bonsai, ikebana, and many others. The Japanese have always been quick to adopt wonderful cultural elements from other nations in the region, and often put their own unique stamp on them as they are practiced in Japan. Since there has been significant contact with the West, the Japanese have also adapted from the cultures of the West.
